Pressure Relieve Device/ (PRD/PSV) digunakan untuk menyediakan sarana ventilasi tekanan berlebih yang dapat merusak ketel atau bejana tekan. Pressure Relieve Device adalah garis pertahanan terakhir untuk keselamatan. Jika semua perangkat keselamatan lain atau kontrol operasi gagal, Pressure Relieve Device harus mampu melampiaskan tekanan berlebih.

Sertifikasi Kompetensi Pengawas Pressure Relief Device meliputi identifikasi, membongkar dan merakit serta menservice Pressure Safety valve, Pressure Vacuum valve dan Pressure Relieve Valve, menguji Pressure Safety valve, Pressure Vacuum valve dan Pressure Relieve Valve, serta membuat laporan hasil identifikasi dan pengujian Pressure Safety valve, Pressure Vacuum valve dan Pressure Relieve Valve.
